Ready to take your dog's scent work to the next level? In Level 2, we'll build on the foundations introduced in Level 1 by strengthening your dog's nose lock and introducing the concept of search areas. We'll begin transitioning away from container searches and into a whole new world of scent.

About the event
What You'll Learn in Level 2
Level 2 is designed to build on the strong foundations established in Level 1 and begin preparing teams for more realistic search scenarios.
While container searches will continue to play an important role throughout this course, we'll start expanding your dog's understanding of scent work by introducing search areas and simple interior searches. Dogs will learn how to search rooms/areas, and a variety of new environments while maintaining focus on the target odour.
A key focus of this level is developing a stronger nose lock and building confidence in working independently. We'll introduce the concept of patterning, helping dogs learn to systematically cover a search area rather than simply moving randomly through the space. Handlers will also begin learning how to better read their dog's behaviour and recognize when their dog is in odour.
