About the event

This course builds on the techniques learnt during our PKGTN and or the Basic Skills Level 1 course.

Course Details

Basic Skills - Enhancing you dogs desire to work with you is key to establishing good training practices and instilling key life skills for your dog.

If you have completed the previous course you will have learnt the some of the fundamental skills. This next 6 weeks will include how to build on the skills increasing their difficulty to challenge your dog (Why? - because if leave-it only applies to the item in your hand, when you use it on that squirrel that runs in front of you, it may not work…so we need to build on the complexity and the difficulty of the challenge)……..

This 6 week course includes:

Impulse Control with Distractions

Additional Techniques for Meeting People

Stays with distractions

More Loose Leash Walking Skills

More Recalls with Distractions

We have also added 

Dog body language for the pet dog owner.

How to help your dog with Vet Visits

Training and Confidence with Place

Calm

This training will take place in Freds Dog Gym at 573 Lubitz Rd, Pembroke.

Pre-requisites

Dogs must have had 2nd set of vaccinations and must have Bordetella, proof required

Dogs must be toilet trained

Dogs must be dog-to-dog and dog-to-human friendly

So as not to overwhelm pups please note you are welcome to bring 1 other family member (children must be over 12yrs to take part in training, see below).

Children - while we hope every dog is child friendly, this is not something that can be assume Dogs in a new environments are often stressed and unpredictable. To ensure safety for all, children over the age of 12years are welcome to attend, please note we require a double leash method on the dog with a capable handler always holding one leash. If the child is not actively involved in training, they should be able to sit quietly (no children under 5yrs please)

Dates: Oct 25th, Nov 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th at 6:45pm

Max 3 dogs per class, may include outdoor work (Spring/Summer/Fall)

Cost $199 includes hard back book on dog body language!!

Please bring a change of footwear

Please note you need a min of 75% attendance for course certificate and ribbon & 75% or higher in fianl test
