About the event
Basic Skills 3!!
This course will build on all the foundation skills learnt in previous courses and take you through more realistic situations.
Build on your skills relating to loose leash walking, practice walking with other dogs’, in a new environement.
Build in distractions, can your dog listen to you with other dogs around?
Learn practical cues for example: going to place, calm etc
Explore more about dogs body language, when they are fearful, anxious, how does your dog show this and how you can help them.
Please note, this is not an entry level course.
Adolescence - what does it mean
Learn why and how providing enrichment activities can help your dogs behaviour.
More Impulse Control (stimulus control), how do we train it, how do we practice it.
Futher practice is avaialble through the After School Club/or other
Course will be a mix of training activities and lecture style information.

Max 6 working dogs
Specialized flooring to minimize slipping
Heated building
Access to facility shop
Pre-requisites & Requirements
Dogs must be over 6months of age
Handlers must have a change of footwear (to clean gym shoes, not flip flops)
Note book and pen, useful
No females in heat (please see our Good Conduct Sheets)
Crates/X-pens are welcome (not retractable leads or bungee's)
Proof of vaccinations including Bordetella is required
Ideally dogs will have completed Basic Skills Level 2 with TailWaggersK9Sport (please contact us if this is not the case)
You will need treats/rewards, water bowl, and a toy
Please bring dogs in on a harness if this is what you use everyday.
Course Dates are: July 11th, 18th, 25th and Aug 1st at 5:30pm
Working Spot Cost $125 include homework sheets
Video Spot Cost $100 includes one video submission 5mins per week (great if yu have a dog that can not be in class)
Audit Spots Cost $85
