Basic Skills Level 3 (NEW)

It's finally here!! Basic Skills 3!!

This course will build on all the foundation skills learnt in previous courses and take you through more realistic situations.

Learn more skills relating to loose leash walking, practice walking with other dogs’.

Build on your recall skills with distractions, can your dog recall to you with other dogs around.

Learn more about dogs body language, when they are fearful, anxious, how does your dog show this and how you can help them.

Adolescence - what does it mean

Learn why and how providing enrichment activities can help your dogs behaviour.

More Impulse Control (stimulus control), how do we train it, how do we practice it.

Course will utilize the CKC Canine Good Neighbour and Therapy Dogs exams as a guide to the level to attain.

End of course test for successful completion (you can then apply with confidence for the CKC CGN).

Where dogs are not ready for the test we will suggest futher practice/After School Club/or other

Course will be a mix of training activities and lecture style information.

Pre-requisites & Requirements

Dogs must be over 6months of age

Handlers must have a change of footwear (to clean gym shoes)

Note book and pen

No females in heat (please see our Good Conduct Sheets)

Crates/X-pens are welcome

Proof of vaccinations including Bordetella is required

Ideally dogs will have completed Basic Skills Level 2 with TailWaggersK9Sport.

You will need treats/rewards, water bowl, a toy

Please bring dogs in on a harness if this is what you use everyday.

Minimum 75% attendance required for course completion

Completion certificate available

Rosette Award on successfully completing all elements of course on final session.

Working Spot Cost $185 include homework sheets, successful completion Rosette and Certificate.

Video Spot Cost $140 includes one video submission 5mins per week (final exam is not available, no rosette)

Audit Spots Cost $85 (final exam is not available, no rosette)
