About the event

Does the world of CKC Obedience pique your interest? Are you already embarking on the training or trialing journey in Obedience, be it CKC or AKC, Rally or Traditional? If you're looking to enhance your skills, glean new insights, or simply spend a day amongst fellow enthusiasts, then this workshop is tailor-made for you!

Our interactive session will focus on refining foundational skills for heeling. We'll delve into the nitty-gritty of footwork necessary for achieving precision heeling that's bound to impress. The workshop is also designed to ensure that your furry friend remains happy and engaged throughout the process.

We'll take you deeper into understanding fronts, position changes, and stays, raising your expertise to an entirely new level! Additionally, we'll help you navigate through the rules for CKC Obedience. Depending on the experience level of the participants, we may also discuss exercises including article retrieves, scent and more (please note these components cannot be taught from scratch in a single session and are dependant on attendees level of experience).

While having a title in Rally or Obedience is not a prerequisite, a basic understanding of the positions and stays is essential. When registering, kindly mention your current level of obedience.

Prerequisites:

  • Prior formal obedience training (rally or traditional) - Dogs should be familiar with the heel position and basic positions.
  • Both dogs and handlers should be in good health and free from any injuries or illnesses.
  • Dogs must be house trained.
  • Humans should bring indoor shoes.
  • No shock, choke, prong, martingales (exceptions can be made based on breed pre-arrangement)
  • Dogs should be on a fixed length leash no longer than 6ft.

Don't forget to pack a lunch – we'll break for about 45 minutes.

Please also remember to bring a crate for your dog.

Join us for a day of learning, growth, and camaraderie!
