About the event
Welcome to the world of Rally Obedience, where tradition meets fun! Â Rally is a great sport to help handlers build a better connection with their dogs as they learn to negotiate a course of signs which require the handler/dog team to execute a variety of maneuvers from the basic sit and stay to jumps, spins and more. Â Â This foundation level course will introduce teams to the fundamental obedience and handlings skills required to be have fun and be successful in the amazing sport of Rally Obedience. Â Â Â Â Dogs will learn a variety of core skills from technical moves like a snappy tuck sit and connected heeling, to life skills like impulse control and working with distractions. Â Skills are taught from the beginning to build your dogs confidence and lay the foundation for the more advanced challenges to come should you pursue the sport to higher levels. Â This course will equally help those who wish to pursue a variety of other dog sports like obedience and agility.Each week, during the hour long session you will get exercises to practice along with homework.
Lessons will focus engagment with your dog, learning signs and the fundemenatls of of Rally.
Each registrant will have the ability to submit an online video for critic by Maggie (the how, where, when will be discussed during the first session). In addition online support through the private facebook group.
To take advantage of this you must have access to Zoom
Limited working spots (6) in the online sessions. This session roles on each month, new entrants will only be taken if someone drops out (you will be able to book the next session mid-way through the first)
Current class has priority.
This class will continue online post lockdown, but will be supported by additional in person workshops and funmatches.
Instructor: Maggie Bird, Maggie has instructed at Best Friends Dog Training since 2012, she and her fabulous dog Zeus attained #1 Mixed Breed in Canada and #13 All Breeds in the CKC National Rankings in 2018!!
