About the event
Do you have a dog that drops to the floor into a comfy down when you stop walking?
Maybe you have a sports dog or confirmation that is struggling to hold stand/stack position for a period of time??? If yes....then this course is for you!!
Think about the activities your dog carries out in their day to day life, now add in any complexity like dog sports such as agility, rally, tricks or the confirmation ring. In many animals, dogs and humans included there is a need to be able to stand (albeit sometimes patiently and quietly), but motionless. Does your dog choose to lie down on the floor when you stop walking, or they are trained to sit when you stop?.....slowly in the modern day dog we are removing, reducing their need to stand still, motionless. This matters as it has a bearing on the muscle strength to hold the stand, which in turn can lead to problems later in life.
In addition many breeds are prone to disorders in the hips, shoulders and elbow joints, others are prone to back issues. Building strength in the muscles that support the spine and corresponding stabilizer muscles can help reduce the risk of issues - this is especially of concern in our athletic dogs, but also plays a significant role in helping our dog as they age.
This course will:
- identify the relevant muscle groups used in the stand
- help you understand the correct posture
- critcal skills for achieving the desires positionsfor each exerciseÂ
- a complete the program
