Training a Dog in Multiple Nosework Sports

From the CARO Working Rally - Scent Disrcrimintaion skill to Sporting Detection Dogs Association 

Understand how we can better training ourselves and our dogs for multiple nosework sports. 

Is it as simply as relying on the cues in the environemnt? Mutiple tools etc.

We are seeing many people move into the Working Stream of CARO, the current scent element requires the dog to identify human odour on an obstacle and retrive the itme to hand. In CKC tracking, the dog is requriedto identify the item and idicate - In scent detection the dog is required to identify and provide an alert on an odour.

This workshop will not only show how to traing the Scent Detection elemnt within CARO, but also how to support this training while competing in many other nosewor sports.

Requirements

Your pup must be over 6months & be up to date on vaccinations including Bordetella.

Please note dogs should be on flat buckle collars or harnesses and have a 4-6 ft leash (No shock, e-collar, choke, prongs, slip leads, head halti or flexi/extendable leads). 

You will need to bring items for you dog to use for the human odour (suggestion cotton handkerchiefs, minimum 3).

And understanding of nosework and CARO Working Stream.
