Upcycled ingredients are ingredients that would otherwise have ended up in a food waste destination, even though perfectly safe and healthy to consume. Using upcycled ingredients helps reduce food waste, which is an effective solution to help combat climate change.We only use the best ingredients and partner with trusted programs. The Upcycled Certified™ Program is a third-party certification program for upcycled food ingredients and products. In order to receive the Upcycled certification, you need to have at least 10% upcycled ingredients as well as go through their audit process to ensure Upcycled ingredients are diverted from waste.We use two upcycled ingredients in our Be Good Bites!Rice Bran is the outer brown layer of brown rice and is separated during the milling process. We chose Rice Bran because of the many nutritional benefits for dogs, such as a rich source of fiber, which helps support digestive wellness, helps promote healthy heart function, and shown to support skin health. Apple Pomace is the pressed by-product obtained after apple juice processing. Just like Rice Bran, Apple Pomace has many nutritional benefits for dogs, such as a rich source of minerals, fiber, & antioxidants, as well as being highly palatable.Let us know of any questions."
